About Data Resource One
Practical data quality support for charities and small organisations that need cleaner, more reliable data.
What Data Resource One does
Data Resource One helps charities and small organisations improve donor, customer, supporter, contact and operational data that has become difficult to trust or manage.
The focus is practical data quality work: identifying duplicates, missing information, inconsistent formatting, unreliable exports and other issues that make reporting, communication and day-to-day operations harder than they need to be.
The problems we help with
Many organisations rely on a mixture of spreadsheets, CRM exports, fundraising platforms, customer lists and manual processes. Over time, that data can become fragmented, inconsistent and difficult to trust.
We help identify issues clearly, improve data quality where practical and highlight anything that needs further review before the data is used for reporting, communications or operational decisions.
Who you'll be working with
Data Resource One is led by a data professional with over 15 years' experience working with donor, customer and reporting data across the charity sector — not consulting from the outside, but doing the job: cleaning donor records, running migrations, and being accountable for the report accuracy that fundraising teams relied on.
Most recently, this included leading the Salesforce CRM migration for UNICEF UK, moving donor and supporter data off a legacy platform — designing the data mapping, leading the cleansing approach, and managing validation and reconciliation so nothing was lost or duplicated in the move. Before that, roles at UNICEF UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity involved running data and reporting teams responsible for the donor databases that fundraising campaigns depended on day to day.
The approach is intentionally straightforward: understand the problem, review the data, explain the issues clearly and provide practical recommendations and hands-on support where it adds value.
Relevant experience
- CRM migration & data cleansing, UNICEF UK — led the migration of donor and supporter data to Salesforce, including data mapping, cleansing and reconciliation across the full dataset.
- Data quality improvement, sales & campaign reporting — led an initiative that raised record accuracy from roughly 70% to 90–95%, the difference between reports people quietly stop trusting and reports people build campaigns on.
Who we work with
We primarily work with charities and small organisations that do not have dedicated data quality specialists or large internal data teams.
Whether the problem is a spreadsheet that has grown over many years or a CRM system that no longer feels reliable, the goal is to provide practical support that is proportionate to the organisation's needs.
How we work
- We focus on practical data quality problems that affect reporting, communication and day-to-day operations.
- We explain findings in plain English, not technical jargon.
- We agree the scope before working on any data.
- We handle files carefully and delete working copies after completion.
- We only recommend work that is realistic and useful for the organisation.
Simple and practical by design
Data Resource One focuses on practical, affordable support for organisations that need help improving the data they already have.
The aim is simple: help organisations understand their data problems, improve data quality and use their information with more confidence.
